One more Stretch Goal IN THE BASKET! All boxed sets will now come in a gorgeous custom mailer with full color art by HT100000.
We know many people won't read this far into the message, so if you do and you see these same questions posted in the comments feel free to fill in the answers for the community.
Do I have to add these stretch goals to my pledge, how do I know I got them?We will manually add all the freebie stretch goals to your basket on the back end. You will see them when you get your pledge manager survey after the campaign closes (this is the survey where we collect your shipping address). If you add them to your basket now, that means you want an additional (paid) one. If you just want what is being given for free, you do not need to take action.
We ordered the book club/bookseller tier which has eight copies of the book sets, do we get eight sets of the freebies?Yes, we will add eight sets of the freebies to your order on the back end. If you would like more than eight of the freebies, you can add them as (paid) add-ons.
Why did you put $10,000 as your project goal? Is that how well you expected the project to do?The purpose of a campaign goal on crowdfunding sites is to put a limit so that if a project does not achieve that number, it does not fund and the creator does not have to follow through with making and shipping the items, and no backers get charged. We fully committed to doing this project last Fall (well before the public announcement that we were doing it), so we knew we were going to make these books no matter how many people backed it. In our previous campaigns we also put $10,000 as the goal. Our preference would be not to put a goal, but because crowdfunding platforms require you to fill in a box when setting up your page we purposely put a small number. This number does not reflect in any way our expectations of how the project would do.
Why were there no stretch goals unlocked in the first 12 hours? Why was Unrivaled the first stretch goal?We put a lot of the accents that would have been early stretch goals into the tiers themselves (ribbon bookmarks, additional embossing on dust jackets, foiling the hardcovers, the Blue Giragi overlays for anyone who purchased in the first 24 hours, etc.). The inital response was so large, there was no time to create and post tiered add-ons. More than in other projects we have done (because of early access and the dedication of this fandom) you blew past our expectations of how quickly numbers would go up in the first couple of hours ($850K in just two hours after the public onsale). The request for
Unrivaled was by far the most popular comment throughout the eight weeks of prelaunch this past summer. Because we were listening, we went back to the publisher to secure the permissions to do a print run of
Unrivaled as well. Once we had those permissions, there was never any doubt,
Unrivaled was going to be the first stretch goal we posted!
